Hey @rivingtonpike, thanks for joining us here at Three Community.

A Pay As You Go 30GB Data Pack is only valid for 1 month, so the allowances won't be available to use 30 days after you first activated the SIM card.

The actual SIM card will remain active for a while though. If a chargeable event (making a call, sending a text or picture message, using data, or any other Three Service for which a charge is made) isn't made within 180 days, then the SIM may be disconnected. You can find these details in the terms and conditions on our website.

If you'll be heading back to the UK soon, and want to keep hold of the same SIM, you can top it up online (you'll need a UK registered card!), adding cash credit rather than a Data Pack. You can then send the occasional text to keep it active (each text will use credit from the top-up). Just make sure to turn data off before you pop the SIM in your phone, as data usage in Canada is charged at £6 per MB and could quickly use up your credit!

Hope this helps, but please let us know if you've any other questions.

StephR

Hi All

I was in the UK for 2 weeks and so bought a "Three" sim card for my phone with a 30gb, unlimited calls and texts package (per month). I am now back in Canada and I have put my Canadian SIM service provider card back in my phone. Is the PAYG automatically inactive at the end of the 1 month period? Because I don't have the UK SIM in my phone, I can't log onto the interactive chat to ask anyone and I don't want to put the UK SIM in my phone again and mess up all my settings.

"you'll need a UK registered card!" - so every foreign traveler is basically SOL?
