Overseas data roaming

In Malaysia at the moment and can’t get data roaming activated. On pay as you go and the 3 website and tech support are not very helpful.

any suggestions?

You can find more info on our Roaming support page. PAYG can be used from Malaysia, but it's not a Go Roam destination, so you won't be able to use data packs or add ons from there. It's £6 per MB from top up credit too, so it's best to be cautious as this will go very fast even with just background data from your apps.

Assuming you have some cash credit topped up, and mobile data and data roaming is enabled in your phone settings, it may be worth checking your network/carrier selection settings to test if manually connecting to any other available providers gets you service.

If you're still unable to connect, it's best to check with customer services again, just in case your roaming services aren't active on your account itself. This is usually active by default though.
