topic Alternative to 7726 for reporting texts? in Account and services

Does anyone know if there's an non-short code alternative to the 7726 number for reporting texts? The problem I'm having is that the texting app I use insists on using the country code (+44) in front of numbers that it pulls from the Contacts app.. This isn't normally an issue but it doesn't seem to work for short codes (+447726) and they're undelivered.

There doesn't seem to be an option in the Contacts app (Android) to not declare the country when storing a contact, either. It would be handy for there to be a "null" country.

Hi @AndrewP,

This is quite odd. I've actually just saved the number in a Pixel 6 as "Spam", and it didn't seem to cause any issues. Although going back to "edit" the contact, I notice that it is logged as a "UK" number, although this didn't interfere with sending a text to that contact from my phone, I got the usual response where the number calling is requested after texting call.

So it sounds like it's your Android build, or the messaging app you use itself causing the issue. I'd have to recommend feeding back to the App developer, and/or the phone's manufacturer.

Thanks,
Jonathan
