Ive had home broadband for around 10 days and when I test via the eero app " run speed test" my speeds vary from 120mb to 250mb which I would be happy with but when I run a test on my tv's via ookla tester or via my network speed test , the speeds drop by at least 50%

I have an external hub situated in loft with 5G leds showing with a wired eero router and also an additional wireless eero extender (My house is a bungalow )

My hub is in loft as I dont really think they are weatherproof to be mounted outside so is there anything I can do to lessen the speed drop and to impove my speeds

Any help much appreciated as if I cant improve speeds I will have to consider packing it all up and sending back before my 30 days return expires

The external hubs are designed to be mounted outside - the clue is in the name and Three would be obliged to replace it if failed while installed as directed! If you must keep it inside try window sills.

I get speeds of 800 Mbps according to the Eero with the hub mounted on a mast above roof line, but using a lapptop with a wired connection to the Eeero I range from 250 Mbps to 550 Mbps with a median of 450 Mbps.

Wireless connection speeds are lower and in my early days quite variable which I discovered was due to various poor default setting on my laptop

What I'm asking is why am I not getting the same or very similar speeds out of my eero that are supposedly coming out of the external hub

I don't know why the figures differ but I have noticed that different speed testers do give different results depending on how they do the testing.

I also see a difference between what the eero reports and what can be achived on my PCs but by postioning the hub in the best location I am able to get speeds so good that I don't care that they are only half the numbers reported by the Eero!
