I have been struggling to find reasons to keep my 5G broadband as there is so many issues with it. I can get 2 bars of 5G with the hub alone, which sometimes delivers 200/300Mb but

1. The hub needs restarting all the time to get a good signal

2. I have tried many directional, omni, 1x1 and 2x2 MIMO antennas, which all SAY they get 3/4 bars 5G, but cannot provide any actual broadband (0.5Mbs). Does the hub REQUIRE 4x4 to work, or what can I do to provide any sort of bandwidth when using an external antenna?

British 5G is (of course) a hack job.
REAL 5G is not dependant on 4G, but ours is.

In other words your router has to establish a 4G connection BEFORE you'll get a 5G signal.
My crappy ZTE router has two T9 ports (easy to break) but they are 5G ONLY, you'll still need your routers internal 4G antennas to have a good enough signal to establish the 5G one.
Depending on your router, if you don't have the EXACT antennas needed you'll get a terrible connection.
