I've been using the three 5G home broadband for some months and the PS5 never had any problem connecting to the internet.

Last week this problem started. It connects to the HUB but can't connect to the internet.

I've tried what was mentioned in this thread below and many others, but nothing seem to work.

<LI-MESSAGE title="PlayStation 5" uid="19285" url="https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Broadband/PlayStation-5/m-p/19285#U19285" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-forum-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-forum lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE>

I've restarted the PS5 and hub many times, and also reset the hub once.

I've tried changing the APN to three.co.uk and 3internet

I've changed the DNS

I've changed the network name and password to something else

I've tried connecting via wi-fi and ethernet cable

I've tried to change the wi-fi to 5GHz and 2.4GHz

And if I do a hotspot with my phone the PS5 connects to the internet just fine, which shows the problem is not the PS5.

What can I do in this case?

Yesterday I changed the DNS and IP from Manual to Automatic, as I had done a couple of times already, and magically the PS5 suddenly connected again after 2 weeks of no connection.

I'm worried the problem will come back again as I have no idea what fixed it.

Hi @returnONE,

I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to respond to your post any earlier. From what we're seeing some devices are occasionally having connection issues that are fixed by either one of or a combination of setting a manual APN or to IPv4 only. <LI-MESSAGE title="FYI : IPv6 Prevented VPN Connection" uid="14851" url="https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Broadband/FYI-IPv6-Prevented-VPN-Connection/m-p/14851#U14851" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-forum-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-forum lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE> is another thread detailing a similar issue, and there's some handy walkthroughs from a couple of users in the replies.

Glad to hear you managed to sort it in the meantime, but that thread may help if you need to retrace your steps.

Thanks,
Jonathan

I have had the 5G router for just over a week now. Initially my kids PS4 and PS5 could connect to the internet via WiFi, however after a few hours (and a massive Fortnite update) they will no longer connect to the internet.

They both connect to the HUB via WiFi but can't connect to the internet.

I've also tried what was mentioned in the link in the original thread thread below with no joy.

To summarise and repeat the above thread from @returnONE

I've restarted the PS5 and hub many times, and also reset the hub once = no fix

I've tried changing the APN to three.co.uk and 3internet = no fix

I've changed the DNS = no fix

I've changed the network name and password to something else = no fix

I've tried to change the wi-fi to 5GHz and 2.4GHz = no fix

Other attempts

I have setup static IP addresses and also setup port forwarding for the Playstation ports = no fix

I have manually selected the "quietest" channels for both 2.4 and 5Ghz = no fix

I've turned off IPv6 = no fix

When does the PS4 and PS5 connect?

If I setup a hotspot on my phone, they connect to the internet fine.

If I take the PS4 or PS5 to a friends house and connect to their WiFi... they connect to the internet fine.

Here's the weird one... If I connect the PS4 or PS5 to the Three router via a wired/LAN cable. It connects to the internet fine. So why won't it connect via WiFi?!?
