Hi @cadmaster,

Sorry we can't give direct advice on substituting the supplied hardware. It's not to say this wouldn't be possible, just that our teams won't have tested these with our service. I'm aware that many members here have mentioned using alternative routers and networking equipment though.

I think there's some relevant responses on this topic:<LI-MESSAGE title="Three New Outdoor 5G Router and #xisting Mesh" uid="36767" url="https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Broadband/Three-New-Outdoor-5G-Router-and-xisting-Mesh/m-p/36767#U36767" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-forum-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-forum lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE>

Is it possible to substitute a multi-port WiFi router for the single port Eero?

Is there an alternative power supply for the outdoor hub? (Some posts cast doubts on the supplied PoE)

Can VOIP be set up so that I can use my old DECT handsets?

I haven't actually bought the Outdoor Hub yet - looking for advice.

Hi,

I removed eero WiFi device and plugged into my old TalkTalk router, worked straight away with some minor changes, WiFi name and IP address config to 192.168.4.1. Now 3 outside box is usable without WiFi drop outs constantly.

Regards

Paul
