I ordered a new iPhone 16 pro max on the 30th of September and was told delivery will be on 30th of October. This is fine if it’s on time as I go on holiday a few days later. So I suppose my question is am I likely to get it on this day and why hasn’t it shown on the app as I’ve upgraded

I believe the app updates when the order is dispatched, but if you'd like to double check the order and make sure it's there, the Support Team would be able to advise on that.

In most cases, orders should be delivered on time, if not a little sooner.
