I had 4 Fitbit watches so far and none of them lasted more than a year, if you decide to get one make sure you have a decent warranty on it. Apple Watch is super pricy so at the moment I went with Garmin Vivoactive, had it for 10 months and not a scratch on it, still works perfectly, I have an IPhone and they work together great.

I haven’t got an Apple Watch but I do have Fitbit Charge 4. It’s a great motivator for moving more. It keeps track of my steps and heartbeat. It also feeds back on my sleep every morning. I think the Apple Watch has more features although I don’t know about battery life. I only charge my Fitbit every ten days.
