My 3 supplied huawei router is unlocked- why don't you try an alternative provider SIM, borrowed from a cellphone. See if it works.

I have a mobile broadband contract for use in rural area where no landline or fibre is available. The contract is about to end and I need to switch to a different network as unfortunately the Three data signal is just too weak and intermittent (confirmed by the coverage checker). The mobile wifi device is a Huawei E5573. I would like to keep the device but change the SIM for a different network. Does anyone know if the device is unlocked so it could use a non-Three SIM?

Hi Ian,

That MiFi device should be unlocked, so another SIM should work in it. @Geluk makes a great suggestion below - you could try popping in a SIM from a phone to see if you can get a connection. If you can't, take a look at the steps here to submit an unlock request.

I'm gutted the signal in your area isn't proving be reliable enough. We're doing loads of work to expand and improve our network, so hopefully we'll see you back at Three sometime soon.

Let us know if you've any other questions!
