Standard Voicemail Greeting

Does anyone know how set up an automated voicemail greeting? I don’t want to record my name, I just want the generic message.

When you first dial voicemail it asks you to record your name and this message cannot be changed. Obviously you can record other messages for different occasions. If you want to retain the original automated message then call your number and listen to the prerecorded greeting. If you decide that this is what you want then record this message when you first call voicemail. Just remember that you will be stuck with this if you don't record other greetings.

I can actually help with this issue now! I have just found a loop hole!

Call 123 (or hold one for voicemail), then key 3, then key 0, then key 1, then key 6, then after the beep, IMMEDIATELY key #, for me it hung up and the personalised name has now been disabled!

I am posting this on as many forms regarding the subject as I can, but I also can’t guarantee that it will work for everyone as i haven’t tested it time and time again, just want to share my experience.

All I get when pressing 6 is “that option is not available” and then it hangs up.

It worked for me just now but I did run into the same problem. If it says the option isn't available then the menu and your inputs got mismatched or something. I'd just start again and wait for it to announce the options. It should say the option you need to press before you press it.

Also when I did press #, it first told me the recording was not saved, then after I picked try again, that's when it hung up and that's when it worked. Now it finally reads out my number instead.

It didn’t give me the option to try again, I have no idea what my voicemail “greeting” is now, (nor how to check).

when I go into voicemail management, it says “all other calls are using the standard greeting” or something like that. I don’t know what it means by “all other calls”!

I have the issue in that it's my work phone that's with Three. If I don't update my 'personal greeting' then it defaults to the 'system greeting' which is my predecessor. I don't want the same issue to happen again when I leave and the phone goes to whoever takes over from me. Does anyone know if I can completely erase my predecessor's greeting? I have updated my personal greeting in the past, for example, when I've gone on holiday, but then it defaults back to the system one.

You're a genius! After 6, I picked the option to record my name and pressed # immediately after the beep. It took three attempts. During the first and second attempt it responded by saying my name wasn't recorded and would I like to try again. I pressed the option to try again for the third time. Then after pressing # immediately after the beep, if I remember correctly, it responded again that it hasn't recorded and would I like to try again. This time, after pressing the option to try again, it just hung up. Wondering if anything had changed, I called my number from a landline to hear my voicemail and VOILA! My name had been replaced with an automated readout of my number.
