I am looking for some advice...

Over the last couple of days I have received 4 separate phone calls from UK mobile numbers saying that they are returning a call that they missed from my number, however I have not called them. These individuals are normal people who are as confused as me. There is no suspicious activity on my account according to Three so it seems like spoofing and some scammer is using my number to mask their own and call people.

Anything I can do to stop this? It's really frustrating and I don't want to be receiving these calls all the time. I have had the same number forever but I'm actually considering closing my account and starting again.

Hello there.

It's disappointing to hear that's happening. It isn't something that can be directly stopped at the moment. It's also worth keeping in mind that those types of call have also been a strategy for gathering information from a target in the past. People call pretending to have received a call in the hopes they can gather some details from you. It's unclear which one it is, but generally I find it's best to block calls from any unknown numbers.

You can opt to change your phone number on the same account if you'd rather not have to close the account.

Pete.
