In the USA here and get the text message about £5/day data passport. Is there no alternative to just pay for the data you use as you go? There is a button to "use internet as normal" and if I click that it says internet should work - but it doesn't. So then have to buy the £5/day passport which then runs out at 7pm USA time 🤬 surely it should be a 24 hour deal??

Unfortunately 3 cannot seem to accept that there are time zones and can only operate on UK time. You may be able to buy a local card for your phone for less than £5 per day and leave a new voicemail message asking people to dial your US number. Amazon offer T-Mobile Prepaid SIM Card Unlimited Talk, Text, and Data in USA for 30 Days for $25.

Really, you don’t want to be paying per use for internet abroad. It charges per MB and it’s going to cost you a lot more than £5 a day to have your phone just turned on due to apps using data in the background.
