I am not receiving calls from UK 0800 numbers while on Roaming

I am currently in Spain and roaming works fine in general. I can receive and make calls and texts within Spain and from and to the UK. However, I was expecting an important call today from a 0800 number and they emailed me telling me that I was not picking it up. No missed call or voicemail was registered.

They could have called you by any phone or mobile by adding #31# before your number to hide caller ID

Hmm, that is odd. You should be able to receive calls and texts from any number while roaming. It's also unusual that you wouldn't get a missed call notification.
