Can't send texts

For some reason I cannot send text messages today, it just says "couldn't send"

Welcome to the Three Community.

Sorry to hear that you've been struggling to send texts yesterday. Is this still happening now?

If so we'd best narrow down what could be causing this.

Are your texts failing to one number or all?
Can you receive texts okay still?
Is the issue happening in one area or several places?
Is anyone else on Three nearby, are they having the same issue?
What model of phone do you use?

With the answers to the above there's a few things we can try out to solve this.

Are you on PAYG, and has this issue been resolved now? We've just recently resolved an issue which may be related. Please let me know if everything is back to normal for you again.

I have been having failed sending of Texts for at least a month so far, and it's on both Phone and my Tablet. I would think it is a network problem because it's on two different devices. I've tried resetting the SMS settings to Default with no change,

Hi @Clairecatz,

If you can contact other numbers without issue, it's entirely possible the issue could be at the other side. Do you receive messages okay from that number?

If you use iMessage or RCS/Chat messaging, check your message settings and switch these features off to check if you contact this number as a normal SMS text. In many cases it may be as simple as one of both of you having to switch RCS off and back on again in settings.

I had similar problem. I could send texts and receive some replies but not from others. Problem started 4 days ago. Called Three yo report it and though the tech person was polite unfortunately could not resolve issue. He said fault was not from Three but blamed other providers! I'm not really savvy with mobiles but googled and one piece of advice was to clean up text cache. I double checked and its safe to this. It does not delete your docs photos etc. It just clears space. (Apparently this is something we should be doing every few months). So I did this and within 10 mins my niece and her mum sent me separate text messages when they couldn't do so before. Good luck.
