Hi. That's disappointing to hear. I'm not sure what would be causing the issue. The network doesn't actively block any specific connections to VPN services. I used multiple VPNs through the Three internet connection, including Cisco's, and they work fine.

There could be something that's being missed, but ultimately the only people that can fully look into it are the Broadband Support Team. I'd recommend heading through there and speaking to the team about it, and checking out what options they have available to you.

@JonathanB I wonder if you can help

My company has recently started using a new VPN, and I cannot connect to it for more than a couple of minutes using my Three data sim.

It's a Cisco Anyconnect endpoint agent, presumably with a Cisco ASA in the background, though I'm not clear on this.

There are no issues with the Checkpoint VPN used previously, just this one.

APN is already set to three.co.uk and IPv6 has always been disabled on my router.

Any ideas?

Hi @Streisand,

I'm not aware of any issues with Cisco VPNs specifically, I'm sure we've had community members confirm they use that service in the past. If you're connecting from a Home Broadband or data only SIM, you should test 3internet as your APN as this is the preferred one for Broadband purposes.

It sounds like you've probably already seen this thread <LI-MESSAGE title="FYI : IPv6 Prevented VPN Connection" uid="14851" url="https://community.three.co.uk/t5/Broadband/FYI-IPv6-Prevented-VPN-Connection/m-p/14851#U14851" discussion_style_icon_css="lia-mention-container-editor-message lia-img-icon-forum-thread lia-fa-icon lia-fa-forum lia-fa-thread lia-fa"></LI-MESSAGE> but generally the best results have been achieved with a manual APN profile using APN: 3internet and PDP type IPv4 only,

Please let me know if the same issues persist with that configuration.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi, @JonathanB

I tried those settings, and every other permutation I could see on here, no joy.

The VPN works on EE, it works on O2, it just doesn't work on Three. I've been advised by the network engineers at work that they've seen it before and it's a problem unique to this network. And unfortunately now I've got a 7-month contract that I can't use. What can I do?

Thanks

Hello,

The page you've linked to just has self-help articles, videos, and generic support chat.

I don't have 'Three Broadband' as a specific product, just a Three data only sim. Is there a someone I can contact to get support for that? Currently I'm wasting £25 a month on a 3 sim that I can't use - O2, Vodafone, EE, all work fine. Just Three has issues with VPNs.

Thanks
