I have just purchased an android phone and need to transfer my eSIM to it from my iPhone. Any advice to assist me please?

I believe you can do it through your online account via a web browser not the 3 app. There is an option to replace your SIM under more options for a physical or eSIM. The eSIM should get emailed to you instantly. Please let me know how you get on and accept this post as the solution if correct to help other users.

There's also options for this in the Three App. Once logged into your number, you can go to the "Account" tab at the bottom of the screen, then "Help", then "Replace SIM".

Just be careful to do this in a location where you have access to Wi-Fi or another connected device, as this deactivates the current SIM, and you'll need email access to complete the process.
