When you buy a Go Roam ATW pass the description says that you can use your regular call allowances in any of 71 countries… but only in the small print (and on a separate area of the Three website) does it say ‘to call the UK’. You can use a Go Roam Europe pass to call other countries within Europe, but the ATW pass is restricted to calling back to the UK.

Hello, David.
Getting charged unexpectedly isn't a great feeling. If that's happened to you on this occasion, I can understand it would be frustrating.
However I feel I should point out for anyone else who might be looking to information about roaming, our main roaming support page allows users to select their destination and get details on what they can and can't use.
The page shows the types of calls that can be made as well as the cost of those calls. The information is shown near the top in the "With Go Roam you can" section, and then a little further down there is additional information under the "outside of your allowance" which gives further details on the charges for that.
This means that whether a user plans to use allowances or if they plan to go outside of allowance, they are informed. Users can also find this information within their price guide, along with other pricing information.
Pete.
