I was thinking of transferring to 3 broadband but it only offers 150 mbps. I currently receive 250 mbps with chance to upscale. Why is h3g capped?

It’s not! It’s more likely that it’s the fastest speed currently available in your area. Check the network status page for the most up to date info.

Three advertises a typical speed of 150Mbps rather than a maximum speed that most struggle to achieve.

My median speed is actually around 450Mbps,

Since they offer a 30 day trial period it is worth giving it a go t see what speeds you can actually achieve -actual speed can  vary considerably depending on your local geography and distance from mast.

Best stay put then; 3G has been turned off.
