Saturday
Prior was Virgin Media.
My 5g router arrived, plugged in, all good.
I have many smart devices which are fussy about 2.4g.
I reconfigured for s seperated SSIDs to "mine" 5ghz and "mine2" 2.4ghz
All smart plugs and lights etc successfully reconfigured and working through their apps.
But I have a google nest mini (should be dual band) but I can get it to connect.
My phone is fine all over the house, on both 5g and 2.4. Buy I moved the nest so it is next to the router just in cas it has poor reception.
Setting up via Google Home app it sees the speaker, but when it wants the wifi connection it only lists the 2.4g ssid. It pick picks the password from my phone but I just get (after a delay) "could not communicate with Nest Mini".
Any suggestions?

Hi @ZaphodBeeblebro,
I've not seen this particular issue before, but I did find some other references to the wording of that error, and it looks like a factory reset of the Nest speaker has solved this error for others. The device may have picked up some settings from your old router/ISP which are causing a conflict.
You can find info on how to reset the various Google home devices here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7073477?hl=en-GB
Thanks,
Jonathan
