Buying from manufacturer, but remaining with Three

Fledgling

I've just bought a new phone directly from Samsung and took out a 2 year contract with Three. I have an existing contract with Three and want to keep my number. Can I put my old sim into the new phone, or do I have to port it to a third party and then port it back to Three? Thanks.

If you've taken a new contract with a new phone number, yes you would need to port out and then port back in since a PAC doesn't work to move the number within the same network. It sounds like doing an upgrade on your existing SIM would have been the better option, as this would continue your existing service and phone number but with a new deal.

You can proceed by either porting the number out to another network and then back in. That process will cancel the old account and move the number to your new account. Or you can arrange a return for your new SIM, and upgrade the existing one instead.

Pete.

Hey @Jamesrlondon

Welcome to the Three Community!

That's exciting to hear about your new phone and contract. Did you take out an additional contract with us? Also, is your old contract out of minimum term?

I did take a new contract with Three. And yes, the old one has just expired. It appears from elsewhere as if I need to port elsewhere and then port back to Three.

Just transfer the SIM; should work.
