Hi,
Been having a real hassle getting the right info on this so would like to get it cleared up.
I have an iPhone with a three contract. I bought my daughter and Apple Watch SE 3 with cellular from the Apple shop (no contract). My daughter does not have a phone and I plan to use family setup.
I want to set it up so my daughter has her own number on the watch so I can call her on the watch when she is away.
Is this possible and what do I do I need to do?
Initially on my watch app when trying to setup cellular on the watch I get an error that says “The Three account on this mobile device cannot brushed to add a mobile plan to “Watch name”. I think I may have some progress on this by changing from a physical sim to eSIM but at the moment I now get a 403 forbidden message when trying to add cellular.
I ended up getting an eSIM and pairing plan for a while to try and make this work but couldn’t get over this initial message so I have since cancelled those. In turn because I’ve cancelled pairing plan I can’t re add fo a month which is maybe why I’m getting the forbidden message. Told to try again after next billing cycle.
Anyway looking for some advice on this.
Thanks

Hello there.
I don't think that's possible. While setting up an Apple Watch with a pairing plan does result in it being assigned a phone number, this isn't actually a number that can be used. The phone number for the watch will instead match the phone number for the mobile phone plan it was paired with. Calling the mobile phone should cause the phone and watch to ring.
Pete.

I have an Apple Watch on a paired plan and can confirm this is indeed the case. On the (very) rare occasion I commence a call from my watch it does in fact display the number of my paired iPhone even though it has an embedded eSIM with a different number.
