This is mostly a rant but it is also complaint about your Three's data collection policies.
Apart from two 2 years when I decided to try EE, I have been a Three customer since 2010. I NEVER missed a single payment on this contract or ANY other contract.
I was horrified when after almost one hour of chit chat your agent asked how much I earn. I ended the conversation right there. No, I do dot feel comfortable sharing my income with Three especially after so many years of never missing a payment. You can check my credit worthiness with credit rating agencies. My phone contract is the least of my bills at the moment. I have contracts with my gym, electricity, water, gas and broadband providers. NONE of them know how much I earn. Apart from my employer and my wife, only my bank and HMRC has this information and I am going to keep it this way.
I will migrate away from Three as soon as I find an operator with a less intrusive data collection policy.
Asking for the income of your customers is overreach. I will noty

Superstar you give away your most personal information to your phone provider. I choose not to.

Then live with the consequences of your choice and don’t rant when that choice comes back to bite you on the backside.

Take a chill pill mate. It’s to do with affordability checks! Do you think the customer service rep is going to go home and say “I was talking to Olumide today and you’ll never guess home much he earns”. Answer no he/she won’t remember especially as you ended the”chit chat”. Anyway as you’re “migrating away” I’ll leave it there.
