Impossible to cancel account!!

I have purchased 2 mobile phones from 3. Contracts ended on both but payments continued to be taken at the same amounts even though we have paid off the accounts. When I queried this I was told to register with the loyalty penalty claim which is currently going to court because many mobile phone companies continue to take money after the contracts end. This is wrong and hopefully people will be compensated. Three have made it almost impossible to cancel. Customer service and care is non existent and they use tactics to put off customers. They hang up, cut off calls cut off live chats, are vague and ask for the same information over and over. 1 hour phone calls to try and cancel an account!! I am now trying to cancel a data plan as I stupidly stayed with 3 to avoid any hassle. I am in the 14 day cooling off period so should not be charged. I am finding it again impossible to cancel the account. I have a PAC code and am going over to giff gaff but I am worried that it may take time to migrate and I may be outside the 14 days. I started the process today but on all chats Three would not confirm my cancellation.

Please bear in mind that this is a public forum and I am just a customer of Three and not speaking on their behalf, just my own experiences on the network.

"Contracts" on Three are usually minium term, for example you sign up to a minium term of 12 months @ £x.xx.  If you terminate before the minium term, Three will charge you.  Coming up to the end of the minium term Three will contact you and inform you that you can terminate but have to give 30 days notice, without penalty.

I signed up on a 24 month "contract" but continued it for over 4 years, on a rolling monthly basis until I contacted them to give my 30 days notice.

Personally, I would go on Live Chat ( https://www.three.co.uk/support/contact-us ), so you can save the conversation, and deal with the data plan first.  Try and keep your cool and explain you want to terminate the contract and believe you are in your 14 days cooling off period.

I wish you luck.
