i have been with Three for 21yrs and have always been able to do an early upgrade, yet this time been declined because of credit check. Absolutely ridiculous, always paid my bill on time, no issues before and now i cant upgrade?
Once this contract is over i will be going elsewhere

I believe it is an automated system check they and most other providers use - it might be worthwhile checking your credit report for any mistakes that you can dispute and get corrected and one last thing - It would be advisable not to conduct any further credit checks as i believe if you are declined anywhere it is an automatic decline for any other checks conducted within the next 30 days - It can be as simple as a late payment that knocks your score down or a mistake - hope that helps

It’s disappointing but not personal! Loyalty cuts no ice in business and if you’ve failed a credit or affordability check then you’ll be refused an upgrade. I believe you can appeal the decision (it’s an automated one) and get a human to review it. I THINK the way to to that is via the complaints form on the Three website.
