Ready to Roam this Winter?
As the winter chill sets in and the festive season approaches, many people will be jetting off to warmer climates. We know staying connected wherever you are is important. Let's take a look at how you can get ready to roam this winter.
First thing’s first
To roam abroad, you’ll need to have roaming enabled on your account and your phone.
Check roaming is active on your account by giving us a call on 333, or follow these steps to turn on roaming.
On most phones, you can check whether roaming is enabled in Settings under Mobile data. Check out Device support if you need more help with this.
Normally, your smartphone will automatically connect to the internet - so, if you don't want to roam abroad, make sure to switch off data roaming.
Go Roam on Three
Go Roam allows you to use your data, minutes, and text allowances in over 160 destinations worldwide.
Our Go Roam destinations are split into three bands –
- 49 Go Roam in Europe destinations
- 22 Go Roam Around the World destinations
- 92 Go Roam Around the World Extra destinations
Before you fly off, make sure to find out which Go Roam band your destination is in!
What’s included with your plan?
Go Roam works a little differently on our Pay Monthly and Pay As You Go plans. You can find information on roaming with Pay As You Go here. For Pay Monthly the options vary depending on when you joined or last renewed your plan*.
For Pay Monthly customers, our Three Your Way Value and Complete plans either have inclusive roaming or Daily Go Roam passes. You can check your plan by logging into My3 or the Three App.

Daily Go Roam passes aren’t included with our Lite plans or on any older Advanced plans. To enjoy Go Roam, you’ll need to buy a Go Roam pass or pay a daily roaming charge**. Don’t forget, you can get up to 2 days roaming free when you buy a Go Roam pass***.
Go Roam Passes
With a Go Roam pass, you can unlock your allowance abroad, and up to 12GB of data. Get them before you go or while you’re abroad. Buy as many passes as you like in advance and they’ll be ready to use when you need them!
For our Go Roam in Europe, and our Go Roam Around the World bands, we offer 3-day, 7-day and 14-day passes. When it comes to our Go Roam Around the World Extra band, 3-day, 5-day, 7-day and 14-day passes are available.
Buy a Data Passport
If you need unlimited data while you’re abroad, a Data Passport is the answer. Available in 89 destinations worldwide and just £7 for 24hrs of unlimited data.
Did you know you can buy as many Data Passports in advance as you like? They’ll sit on your account, ready to use when you need them.
Notifications
When you arrive abroad, we’ll text you with any charges you can expect in that destination.
If you don’t want to receive these notifications, text stop to 330.
You can easily reactivate them by texting start to 330 if you change your mind.
We’ll also notify you if any charges have been incurred while you’ve been roaming. Plus, we’ll let you know when any Go Roam Passes or Data Passports have been activated and when they’ll end.
