Make the most of using your phone abroad with our Ready to Roam giveaway. 

We’re excited to give you the chance to win 1 of 10 7-day Go Roam passes to unlock your Three UK allowances in any Go Roam in Europe or Around the World destinations.  

To enter, comment on the thread below before 09.00 on 1 May 2024 to let us know how easy you find getting your device ready for roaming abroad is with Three.

Hello there. 

Turkey isn't a Go Roam destination, using services there can be very expensive. Here's some of the pricing info:

Calls to a UK standard landline or mobile number - £1.40 per minute

Calls to a local or any Band 1 standard landline or mobile number - £1.40 per minute

Texts to the UK - 35p per text

Texts to a mobile number within Turkey - 35p per text

Using data - £3.00 per MB

Using voicemail - £1.40 per minute

Receiving calls in Turkey - 99p per minute

Receiving texts in Turkey - free

You can use a Data Passport in Turkey. Those are £5 per day. When you have a Data Passport on your account, you will have Unlimited internet for up to 24 hours. If that sounds like something you'd want to use, I'd recommend placing a Spend Limit of £0 on your account before you travel, and I'd recommend speaking to the support team on chat in order to request your Data Roaming Limit be set to £0 as well. This will help prevent you from getting accidental charges while using your phone abroad.

You can purchase however many Data Passports you think you will need while you're away prior to leaving. This ensures they are on the account ready for you when you arrive. Please be aware you can't by more than one at a time, if you need 5, you'd need to order a single Data Passport 5 times in order to stack them.

Once you're in Turkey, trying to use Data will automatically trigger the Data Passport and you're good to go. You can find out all the important info about how it works on the Data Passport Page.
