No VoLTE on Moto e6 plus

I have a Motorola Moto e6 plus phone not purchased from Three, with a Three pay-monthly sim. The Three device checker indicates that this phone will work with Volte over the Three network. However, since 3G was switched off it has been impossible to make outgoing calls. Incoming calls, sms, mobile data and wifi all function normally. Under *#*#4636#*#* 'Set preferred network type' is set to LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) 'VoLTE provisioned' is available and is toggled on. The phone is running android 9. 

When attempting an outgoing call, the display appears as if the call is being placed,  but there is no ring tone and nothing happens at the other end.

In case it's relevant, the SMARTY MVNO running on the Three network lists this phone as being incompatible with their VoLTE provision. 

Is there anything I can try to enable VoLTE?

The device is VoLTE compatible, but if you didn't get it from Three, it's likely that it's has a different carrier configuration on it. With newer devices the VoLTE feature typically works across networks, but I'm guessing this would just depend on the manufacturer.

Hello there.

I don't know for sure, but given the age of the software, I think it's unlikely that the device has the correct carrier configuration for using VoLTE on Three. You might want to consider looking at getting an newer phone.

Thanks for the reply. That's fair enough, although it's slightly annoying that Three's own device guide states that this device does work with VoLTE

Hi @reactive,

Just in case we've missed anything I'd recommend to check out How to ensure your phone is ready for the 3G switch off 

This lists a few common settings to check that you have VoLTE set up correctly.

Particularly if your phone has 2 SIM slots I'd advise to check if calls do work when the SIM is inserted in the other slot. Dual SIM phones only support 4G calls in one slot, so we're finding this is one of the most common issues to arise.

Three are incoret. On support devices write that they support LG G6 but not support LG G7 Thinq, wich is newest model. My LG G7 was swiched off from 3G but I found information how set to work with 4G and i have for 2 weeks VoLTE connection to 19 october. After that Three swiched off my VoLTE.

Hi @Nasko,

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your calls. We wouldn't switch off your VoLTE access, but perhaps you've been affected by the 3G switch off. Please note it's the masts which are being switched off, not models of phone.

What steps did you follow previously to get this working?

I activated again my VoLTE on LG G7 ThinQ but need to set many things. Three not support LG G7 Thinq, byt I found way how to do. I'm not sure how much LG G7 works on Three UK.
