Some sites such as worldradiohistory.com won't load and just freeze, this is while using Three home 4g broadband. The site will load ok when using a VPN or on other networks (loads fine on my phone with Tesco Mobile 4g or 5g connection).

yes there is content filtering implemented by three. once I was trying archive on the phone not working but working on broadband(not Three). I even reported this and got the following response
"
The BBFC provides the framework, which all the networks use, to decide on category filters. The BBFC has reviewed https://archive.org/ on numerous occasions over the years.
I had to edit some of the content below, because I cannot post some of the words
An example of one of their many adjudications is as follows:
We have found that while the site contains material including reference books and educational content, it also contains material including hardcore pornoography, offensive depictions of sexual assault accompanied by very strong language, and material promoting Hitler and racism. As such, we believe that the current adjudication made by the BBFC from October 2018 is still valid, and the site is not suitable for people under 18.
As a result, we won’t be removing these websites from our adult content filter at this time. You can remove the adult filter to access the site, if you’re over 18.
If you want to remove your content filter, just give us a call on 333 from a Three phone, or 0843 373 3333 from any other phone (5.1p per minute from a BT landline, other networks may vary). You can also chat to us online, or pop into your nearest Three store with ID, and we’ll be happy to help.

Hmm more investigation and if I ping a known problem site, worldradiohustory.com on other networks is resolves the IP fine as 23.227.182.170 and ping works. If I ping this site from Three I get an error, icmp_seq=1 Destination unreachable: No route.
If I ping this IP address on Three it works fine.
If I ping a known blocked site that won"t load in browser it resolves to an IP and pings ok but presumably it either resolves to a Three owned IP or that address is blocked for web traffic.
Does seem to indicate it's actually a DNS problem as I suspected.

Hi @Npf,
Are you able to share a list of affected websites? You mentioned worldradiohistory.com but suggested there are others returning the same issue?
Thanks,
Jonathan

I'm guessing it's a DNS problem rather than the age filter as blocked sites such as archive.org instantly fail to load, the problem sites just wait until they eventually time out

Sorry for delayed reply.
I know about the age filter and this isn't the cause of the problems I'm having. Filtered websites instantly fail to load as if they don't exist which is exactly what I would expect to happen.
With The sites I have problems with it just keeps trying to load and never gets there on Three but they load ok on my Tesco mobile which has the same BBFC age filter in place (the age blocked sites won't load on my phone either) which presumably indicates it's a DNS fault rather than a filtering one.
I'll check later if the IP address of the problem sites changes between Three and Tesco as this would rule out DNS if they get the same IP address on both.
