pairing plan for samsung watch 7 with honor 7 lite phone

as the title, i have the honor magic 7 lite phone, a samsung watch 7, trying to pair the watch with a pairing plan, technical team are saying not possible, i require a samsung phone for samsung watch to be on a pairing plan,

any one managed to get a pairing plan with a samsung watch using any phone other than a samsung? seems a bit of a rip off if true as the phone is android can have the wearable app and samsung health etc yet i cant pair it to my sim plan because i dont have a samsung phone.

Hello there.

It looks like there might be some kind of compatibility limitation between Samsung Watches and other branded phones. Looking into it, I can see that the watch can be paired over bluetooth, but users report that they have issues when trying to pair the watch over cellular unless it's a Samsung phone as well. 

The limitation doesn't appear to be network specific either, as I'm seeing users report this on multiple UK networks, and even overseas networks. It would be best to speak to Samsung directly to get their official position on the matter.
