Confusion over numbers

Switched from ID Mobile to Three and had a PAC code.  Everything has gone OK except that I cannot change the number on my new phone to my old number which came over with the PAC.

I have texts going out on one number and people texting me back on the other.  Really confusing.

Hey @iperkins1969

Welcome to the Three Community page.

Can you tell me what type of device you have?

It's likely that you'll need to go into the settings within the phone to update your number.

When was your porting completed?

iD Mobile is an MVNO that uses Three network. So maybe something went wrong in the porting process but because they are same network it's having this weird behaviour.

What is phone number used on the out messages? I mean is the ported number or Three's temporary phone number that came initially with Three's SIM? (Do not reveal or share personally identifiable information like your phone numbers, as stated in the community rules). And same question for inbound/received messages? And is Three's SIM the only slotted in your phone? Or do you have both SIMs (assuming your device can handle 2 Sims, e.g. have 1 plastic SIM and another eSIM )

I'm also wondering how things work since RCS is now available in the UK. Do you know if you have RCS enabled on your phone? android or apple by the way?

Thanks. I kind of understand some of what you said, but most of it has gone over my head. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I’m going to take this into a Three shop to sort.
