New Sim?

AMA
Fledgling

Hi

I’ve just received a call from ‘Three’, they told me I needed a new SIM card as the old one wasn’t supporting all of Three’s services.

The guy offered to reduce my bill by 40% per month then asked for all details off my Bank Card to set up a new Direct Debit, he seemed to have lots of information about me and told me anew SIM would arrive tomorrow. Is this legitimate?

Hi @AMA,

This sounds really suspect. We're not making any changes to SIMs that I'm aware of, and I doubt we'd call out of the blue if this was necessary. I'd recommend to get in touch and confirm with customer services if anyone has actually tried to contact you about your account.

Please refer to our report a problem page, for more guidance if this does appear to be a scam/fraud.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi

i appreciate you getting back to me, I’ve tried phoning 3 and also attempted to use chat but I don’t seem to be having any success. Options on the phone aren’t relevant and chat is either unavailable or busy!

Then block the number that called you and as a precaution report it to action fraud now.
