Scamming in the name of recurring payment

Fledgling

My 24 months device contract is finished, and they are still charging the same price for the 25th month in the name of recurring payment. If I don't select a plan, they keep charging this amount automatically just for the SIM plan. They can stop/pause the services, or even can charge as per the unlimited package (around £30/month), but they are charging the same amount £108/month which I was paying for an iPhone and unlimited package! Just for the 2 days, I'm being charged £108, and when I upgraded to another plan, they removed my unlimited data immediately, but the price is still the same £108, only for using it 2 days!! This is a real scam to fool and keep charging people, even though you are their loyal customer. They didn't send me any text or gave me a call to remind me OR advise me about it. They should be sued for this unnecessary recurring payments.

Hello there.

Oh no, that's disappointing to hear. The team normally send out reminders by email, and often offers by SMS, as well as the date being shown in My3 in order to try and keep users up to date with when their plan minimum term is reached.

Since you've spoken to the team and had the price plan changed, the allowance that you were charged for should remain active through to the end of the current bill period, even if the plan information has changed on My3. It should then drop down onto the new plan when the new bill is generated and charged.

Since your previous bill already generated, it would be too late to go back and change that. If you'd like to register a complaint about the experience though, you can do that on our Complaint page. The support team there will register the complaint, and they can also check if there's any way to resolve the problem.

Pete.
