Three or scammers?

ShazUK
Fledgling

So I upgraded my phone this morning online and have had multiple calls since saying they are calling from first time “three” then another call saying “three mobile network”. They said they want to talk about changes to my account and asked for personal details which I didn’t feel comfortable with so ended the calls.

Then I’m getting text messages from 3 different names, “three UK” “From three” and just “three” I’ve called customer services and he was hard to understand but sort of Said L it was them. I’m sorry but why are they making everything look super suspicious with different names etc?!

with scammers at every turn nowadays three are making it incredibly difficult to know if it’s genuinely them or not.

Hi there @ShazUK,

Three may call you after you take out a new agreement to complete some security checks as part of standard procedures.

Although this can be common for a purchase to be authorised, we can't guarantee that the calls you received were legitimate, as we don't have access to your account to check.

Please have a chat with Customer Services, who'll be able to offer some clarity on any contact made to you through the account notes.

Thanks,
Michael

I can’t confirm whether or not your calls are bonafide  or not but as a comparison I’ve literally taken out a third contract with Three today via the app. I’ve received no calls only a confirmation email from Three and one from DPD confirming that my tablet will be delivered tomorrow. I do know that occasionally Three call as a security check but obviously can’t confirm this is so with you. Call 333 to check.
