5G Home Broadband – Videos not loading on Facebook (works fine on mobile data)

JoeSzeto
Fledgling

Hi,

I’m having a strange issue with my 3UK 5G Home Broadband connection.

When I’m connected to the 5G Home Broadband Wi-Fi, videos on Facebook often fail to load or keep buffering indefinitely.

However, if I switch off Wi-Fi and use my phone’s own 3UK 5G mobile data instead, all the same videos load perfectly with no issue.

This problem only happens when using the Home Broadband Wi-Fi connection, even though the signal strength is good and general browsing seems fine.

  • Issue: Facebook videos not loading or freezing while using Wi-Fi
  • Works fine on: 3UK 5G mobile data (same phone and account)

I’ve already rebooted the router and checked the signal, but the issue continues.

Hi @JoeSzeto,

Is this issue persisting? Has it always been the case since you set up your Broadband service, or was this working previously?

Did you try out @MymsMan's suggestions?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Strange,

Do you have any other devices that you can see if they can play using your wifi connection?

Does it affect the playing of any other videos (youtube, bbc etc)?

You could try changing the APN setting in your hub from 3internet to three.co.uk to see if that makes a difference
