I need help, maybe it's a restriction from you or something, so i need to know what's happening and why.

Been on the phone the three 3 times and they have no clue what they’re doing and why we suddenly can’t access certain websites. I was even accused of trying to access adult content… no just Fortnite for my kid thanks. Looking at these comments and it’s so over my head I don’t know how to change an APN I can’t see any options on the settings app, could someone please talk me through it? I’ve told them I’ll be cancelling if it’s not fixed by weekend and I won’t be paying their cancellation charges as I’m not getting the services I signed up for

CGNAT is basically "Carrier Grade NAT"

Now NAT is Network Address Translation, and your router does NAT so that the internal addresses of your computers are protected from the outside internet, thats why there are Private IP addresses and Public ones.

CGNAT adds a second layer of NAT at the carrier side before it gets to your router, so you end up with Double NAT

This primarily stops you being able to let people connect from the outside internet to your internal machines, even if you setup your router to enable that to happen. This mainly affects people who want to run their own services or some games that allow other people to connect. If those use cases are not needed then you should be ok with CGNAT.

HOWEVER! This is not a good situation, the three.co.uk APN is designed for mobile phones not router, the 3internet APN is supposed to be used for Three's broadband offering. So there seems to be a problem somewhere, I'm trying to get chat support to help me get mine sorted right now, as there seems to be some sort of "Account reset" that can be done to fix it.

I have had similar issues.  It aopears to be an issue with the 3nternet APN.

I followed some advice from another thread to  log in to the router. Go into the Data section, then change the APN from the auto setting of 3nternet, to three co.uk - change every occurence of 3nternet to three.co.uk , then save.

We all seem to be having similar problems, it seems to be related to the 3internet APN on the router. You can try creating a new APN connection profile, call it "three.co.uk" and use the APN three.co.uk

There are obviously some drawbacks to doing this in that you will be on CGNAT, but we have no feedback from three support about what changes have been made, just that it seems to affect certain sites and VPN providers.

Thank you - Worked for me.  Can you explain what CGNAT is,  and what it's drawbacks are?
