So after several months of 'try moving your router further along the windowsill', Three finally admitted today that they misled me with false promises about broadband to my location. When will the law protect consumers from this disgusting profiteering?
As I've repeated since October to Three on many occasions, being honest at least allows the customer to make a decision. Instead, they tell lies to keep you in a support loop, hoping to retain custom in time for their eventual improved infrastructure.
This is exactly what happened at my previous address; 18 months of disruption and lies, eventual admission of insufficient infrastructure, and in the end, service was restored to a decent level (in that case it had previously been good, so not sure what they were doing in the meantime, but some sort of major works, apparently).
So far I've been offered to have one month's fee waived, which is not a satisfactory offer. They also expect me to return the router if I cancel (which wasn't my intention). I've gone from 150-450mbps to 0.5-30 mbps with dropouts and inability to stream content such as live sport reliably. I've even said I'll be reasonably OK with 20-30mbps as long as it's consistent and reliable (and price reduced for the non-existent 5G I'm paying for).
The customer service has yet again been utterly appalling.

No I’m no keyboard warrior as you seem to infer and don’t tell me to get a grip mate. I maintain my inference about you in as much as anyone who plays the loyalty card has a weakened argument and you constantly play it. You huff and puff like daddy bear who’s caught Goldilocks in a headlock The bottom line is Three are not and have not been deceptive or duplicitous in their dealings with you and it’s not me I’m taking a look at it’s your good self I’m looking at;and you’re coming up short. Now let’s agree to disagree and leave it at that.

Pardon, coward? (Yes, I saw your latest thick-as-mince response). You’ve repeatedly made character assassinations on me, but if I defend myself, it’s me who couldn’t leave it? You moron.
And I treat wimps like you with the contempt they deserve – keyboard-bashing away, big mouth, very different in real life.
Whatever you think about my post, it was genuine, to me the advice constituted untruths, and I was misled (they’ve admitted it). My character, unlike yours, is sound. And I’m fine for Three to reply and say it wasn’t intentional. Unlike you, I’m open to humility. In your case, you got in a pickle when I called you out for unsubstantiated character slurs. Instead of having the courage to apologise, after which you could have still pursued some of your points sensibly, you dug your own hole and repeated the insults, despite knowing nothing about me, and why having a reliable broadband supply is extremely important to me at present.
Clearly, you’re the self-righteous one, you little troll. You’ll learn; if not today, some other day.
