Nr5103e router, sudden slow speeds and pretty much zero upload speed.

Hi, since Saturday evening, my 5g broadband has been awful. Barely useable and speedtests show a fast download initially and drops to below 10mbps (it starts at 100mbps, sometimes 200.) In speedtests, the upload test usually fails but when it does complete its around 0.09mbps upload.

I’ve changed apns, bands, disabled 5ghz WiFi, connected just via Ethernet, tried different locations. The only thing that I’ve tried that has yielded some good results is putting the 5g router sim in my iPad and doing a speed test. Only that way does it show speeds of over 200mbps again and upload speeds of around 10mbps. So an almost 200% increase on speeds compared to when it’s in the router.

Three live chat hasn’t been useful and just blamed it on bandwidth problems at the mast. I disputed this because my parents are also on 5g broadband, live 2 minutes away and don’t have this issue. If I bring my router to their house and try, it still shows slow speeds. I can speed test on theirs and it’s over 100mbps and functional.

Any ideas on what to do?

Considering EE even thought it’s mad expensive compared to three.

Same here, although I have the NR5103E V2 router. It's been like this the last 3 days.

Coverage looks to be fine. No network issues reported in my area either.

Can't stream anything or use WiFi on mobile phone. The wheels just keeps on spinning...

Hi @Fringedux,

Sorry to hear about the recent issues with your router. It does sound like a device issue is more likely that a network one based on all the tests you've done so far. It may be worth a factory reset of the router next. If you need to escalate the issue following the chat with customer services, you can also use the options here.

Thanks,
Jonathan
