Problem with Three DNS settings

Fireyorks
Fledgling

Anyone having problems with Three DNS server.

Am randomly receiving

Safari can't open the page because the server can't be found.”

Happening all the time on every website I visit.

When I change the DNS settings on the device or router to use say Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 works perfectly.

why would the Three DNS randomly stop working after working perfectly for 2 years, only started over last 3 days.

Hi @Fireyorks,

Are you still encountering any issues like this? Were you able to check if this was specific to Safari as @Geluk suggested?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Tried a different browser, just the same.

only fix was to use a different DNS, worked perfect on Cloudflare on 1.1.1.1

Also tried Google, worked fine on that as well

Very strange, it doesn't seem like it's a universal issue, as I'm sure we'd see more posts and topics if no one could access any sites without changing DNS. I don't think most people would have thought to try this. There's a few other things which may be worth checking here:

  • Are you replicating the same problem on multiple devices, or one specific laptop/PC?
  • Does it make a difference if you're using a wired or Wi-Fi connection to the router?
  • If it seems to be just one device I'd troubleshoot from that perspective, check you've got up to date drivers and any other recommended software updates from the manufacturer.
  • If all devices and issue is pointing towards the router, does a factory reset restore normal service?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Try a different browser.
