Hi there I'm wondering if anyone is able to help with my Three 5G Broadband. I've had it for about 8 months and it's been great but for the past week there have been issues with the upload latency. This leads to constant lag when playing online computer games or using remote desktop for work.
This was first seen over wifi and persisted when connected via Ethernet. Over Ethernet to the Zyxel NR5103EV2 the download/upload speeds are fine:
But whenever I am uploading the latency increases by 232 ms on average & spikes as high as 1.3 seconds.
I'd read online that enabling UPnP on the router can help with this issue but it's not made any difference. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience with these latency and packet loss issues. We've deployed some updates at the end of May, and this should have resolved the situation, please let us know if you've been seeing improvements in the last couple of weeks?
Thanks,
Jonathan

I did experience a period of high latency between 02:00 and 10:00am on 8th June, this was resolved by rebooting the external hub
The previous period of high latency was 22-23 May, Normal latency for Ping Google is around 20ms
I am not one of those who has been plagued by constant high latency - rebooting has resolved the issue when it has occured

Hi @MymsMan,
Thanks for confirming, as you say probably not the same issue as the others mentioned, but glad to hear that it was a minor issue that was fixed by a reboot in your case.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Same issue here in London Area. Huge upload latency spikes (> 400 ms).

Seem issue here in London area. The upload latency could range from 17.2 ms to 410 ms, which is a huge jitter.

Can anyone from Three comment on whether or not this is being investigated? Just browsing these forums shows a lot of people have recently started having very similar issues.

Hi @jacob182,
Yes there's been quite a few posts specifically around ping/latency. I've flagged this up last week, but we're still looking into what may be the root cause. Latency issues (gaming and general) sounds very similar. Some Community members have mentioned using three.co.uk APN instead of 3internet as a workaround.
It's not a permanent fix as the default APN is usually better for Broadband services, but it may be worth a try in the interim.
Thanks,
Jonathan

Any updates on how much longer this will occur for?? The APN fix doesn't work for all. I myself have switched and still having major issues
