Slow 5G since few days

Around 2-3 days ago my latency has experienced spikes while playing games, usually i get around 20-30ms, now its 25-600ms with spikes.

I live around W3 in London, i have tried everything, checking my Lan cable, resetting my hub and network status.

Hi @mbedna123,

Sorry to hear that you've been experiencing lag recently. Did the Network Status checker show that we're aware of any local issues? I appreciate it doesn't solve the issue, but can help indicate what sort of issue we're dealing with. Are the issues persistent on your wired connection and when using Wi-Fi?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Status checker showed nothing, I'm used to seeing some engineering work being done few times a year but now it shows nothing. The main problem is that the ethernet and WIFI works fine, I can download apps and other things, however when I try to play games or talk online I have very high latency, ping,ms the games run very poorly, stuttering and lag. It never happened before. I have updated my contract today (25/04/25) for a new 5G router and same plan, nothing has changed. What should I do ? The Three Broadband app tells me I have "excellent" signal strength.

That's strange. What speeds are you getting on the downloads that are working? It might be worth doing a network speed test, and also checking the packet loss% to see if there's any signs of issues there.

Pete.

What about the data packet loss?

Fledgling

Hi Pete,

Im having the exact same problem too. High speeds, low ping, 0% packet loss. The Internet is working perfectly but as soon as I try to play a game online its constant lag and latency spikes. Im baffled. Been for abkut a week now and previously worked with no issues and no changes to cause this issue.
