Having to put an old LG U8120 back in service as Samsung took a bath. Problem is although battery charges and phone switches on only get blue spirals - even with a three sim installed. No keys work, no service jingle and no error message. If its faulty why a lit screen, any suggestions on a fix? Fingers crossed, thanks for any advise. Paul.

Hi @paulT,
This is a really odd situation, it could possibly be down to the age of the phone. I wonder if the internal memory has corrupted, or it's developed some sort of other fault stopping the OS from booting up.
If it were blocked, I'd expect an error message to display, indicating the network or SIM was blocked or failing to initialise, or something along those lines.
I don't think we've got any support for that phone as it was discontinued some time ago, LG might not support old models but if you wanted to give them a try you can reach them online: Consumer & Home Electronics from LG | LG UK or call: 0344 847 5454
It might also be worth trying to force a factory reset, some phones have special combinations or codes you can type in to force a wipe, or access a special boot screen when the software isn't loading. Try searching online for the model along with terms like factory reset, wipe, hard reset, etc, and you might find something.
Thanks,
Jonathan

It may just be too old to register on the network. It may be time to visit ebay for something that was made a little more recently than 2004.
