LTE2122GR User Guide

Sercomm LTE2122GR Router.

Hello, I have recently subscribed to Three Broadband and have received a Sercomm LTE2122GR Router. This router seems to have very basic configuration settings, even in advanced mode and I can't help thinking that there must be more features in there somewhere. I have searched, in vane, for a User Guide. The Three website only offers very basic guidance, basically how to use the plug-and-play features. The link to the Sercomm support is useless as it only gives information about an "Adventure CBRS Dongle", for some reason. Sercomm's website has nothing apparent. All the Three support assistant on the phone could suggest was "Try Googling it"! Has anyone else managed to find a User Guide?

Hi @RobH,

My understanding is that the Sercomm runs optimally on its default settings. Coverage and network capacity permitting, it can achieve exceptional speeds for a 4G device.

I can totally understand where you're coming from though. I've not got any user guide to hand, but I'll make some enquiries and let you know if there's anything like this I can share.

Thanks,
JonathanB

Hello Jonathan,

Thanks for your reply.

One thing I am particularly keen to find out is if it is possible to edit the names of the devices in the LAN list.  This is a simple process in all other router I have used.

I would be grateful if you could dig out any information.

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

I'm sorry I've not found any sort of guide/manual we can share, but I'll let you know on here if I do at a later stage.

When I've consulted a device specialist, they're not aware of any way to edit device names on the LTE2122GR, so it doesn't seem to be a supported feature currently. I'll certainly feed this back though, in case it can be included on a future firmware update.

Thanks for your help on these issues, Jonathan and for chasing them up.  I am surprised that Sercomm do not issue a User Guide for their device as this is normal practice in the industry.  Looking at their website, it seems that they are generally a bit short on support and downloads.  Perhaps they just rely on plug & play functionality!

Rather than start a new thread on the same subject, I thought it best to reply to this one and ask if there's been any progress on a manual or user guide for the Sercomm router?

There's a whole page of ALG settings without any kind of explanation of how Sercomm define what these settings do. Amongst the settings is one for IPSEC which could affect WiFi calling. Reading general online searches for this kind of thing can be misleading as they will be implemented differently by each manufacturer.

Hello Cancunia,

I have made calls to Three and even with these, I have still not been able to locate a User Guide for this router.
I find it astounding that Sercomm do not have one available.
As you say, internet sources are not really reliable so this is very frustrating.

I am not at all happy with Three in general so I will not be renewing my contract.
Signal strength on the router never gets above 2 bars and the connection to my phone is appalling.
Whenever I contact them they tell me that they are working on their mast in the area and it will improve.
It never does!

Quite amazing for a flagship device, no documentation & the link from the Three help pages to Sercomm does not actually contain any relevant info.

I quite agree. It seems from my previous phone calls with Three Support that they are just as much in the dark about this as subscribers so I don't think contacting them again will do any good. Perhaps someone with some sort of authority at Three will be made aware of this post and do something about it. We can't be the only 2 people who are frustrated with this. Personally, I will be checking out the specs of routers that other providers use, to see about switching.
