Pictures have power, there’s no doubt about it. And with tech advancements, most of us are now carrying around incredible cameras in our pockets. But what makes the difference between a stunning portrait or an overexposed selfie? Between an accurate action shot and a just-missed-it blur?

We’d love to hear your tips and tricks for getting the best shot so post them in the comments below. You can also include the snaps you’re most proud of to show off your efforts - we’ll moderate as quick as we can to approve the pictures. When we’re done, we should have a handy how-to guide and bonus community photo album.

In exchange, and to celebrate the newest additions to the Google Pixel family, we’ll give a brand-new Google Pixel 7 to one lucky commenter. With powerful Pixel Camera features like Real Tone and Cinematic Blur, the Google Pixel 7 is a photography powerhouse and we can’t wait to see the beautiful images it can capture.

**Prize draw now closed**

You’ll be automatically entered into our prize draw when you post a comment. The prize draw will close at 23:59 on 31 October 2022 and no comments will be counted after that. One winner will be randomly selected on 02 November 2022 from all eligible entries.

We’ll drop the winner a Private Message between 4 and 7 November and we’ll announce the winner by their username once they have accepted their prize, by updating this post. To ensure you receive notice of Private Messages, please verify your email address after registration. If you do not wish to enter this prize draw, do not comment on this thread

Well I always use my iPhone XR for quick snaps but to be honest I always fall back on my bridging camera, Sony DSC, for my best shots as having x1200 zoom at hand lets me grab any detail shot. I then import to iPhone and edit to post on Instagram

Never pose a subject.

Create natural memories that aren't reliant on trends or overly false stance of subject.

Photos are memories

Trends will pass and stylised imagery just looks ridiculous

I love taking pictures of mushrooms and fungus, odd I know, but having a reference point for scale makes all the difference.

Photos are soo important capturing special memories. Tip - I love trying to use the sun to create a silhouette.

In order to get the perfect picture, you must focus your camera. You can use grid lines to balance your shot and use natural light to get a beautiful picture. However you must avoid zooming into the photo as it can make it blurry and grainy. Using HDR mode can help balance the light and dark elements in a high-contrast photo. Holding your phone still can prevent blur and use a tripod if you have one. Use a variety of perspectives.

Hope I win ,

Siyani

Just click and shoot and let Google's world class AI do the hard lifting for you!  And if something looks off, magic erase it 🙂

1) If you’re taking a picture of of someone try and find a pocket of shade from the to stand in then take your shot 📸. If your taking close up shots hold your phone / camera slightly taller and angle your camera slightly down and opposite for further away shots 🤳🤩
