Can't Port Forward ZTE MC888 at new address

LavenderDog
Fledgling

Hi, I moved last month, and after the process tried to get my handful of ports forwarded, nothing fancy just wanting to host some game servers for friends. Maybe I'm just inept but no matter how I try I cannot get it working. I've tried changing the APN as other threads have suggested, and I'm a bit lost at this point.

The previous area I lived in had 5G coverage whilst this one has less, if that makes any difference.

Hi @LavenderDog,

Sorry to hear you're having some trouble with setting up port forwarding. Just to clarify, you did have this working at the previous address, or did the issue only crop up after moving?

The reason I ask is that unlike with fixed line services your locations shouldn't really be too important, other than that local coverage and capacity on the network may vary. I wouldn't expect the router settings to have been affected by moving.

If you're having some trouble with setting manual APN settings, I believe the Broadband team should also be able to move your device to an IPv4 only APN if you let them know that IPv6 is interfering with devices/networking featured you use.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Hi, after setting the APN manually to IPv4 only I've been able to get some ports working, but not others.

Edit: After trying and rebooting and messing about with firewalls, it works. I won't lie, I found this all very confusing, but I'm happy to report that it works for the time being.
