2 networks definitely not better than 1, and 3s internet is choked in peak times, from 5pm this afternoon I dont even have enough juice to run a speed test, gave 3 a chance after leaving thinking it would be better, seems I'm off back to EE, absolute shambles and a rip off.

Hello there.
That's not so great. It sounds like there might be an issue in your area. It might be worth checking it out on the Service Status page to see if anything has been logged.

Theres never an issue, or so I always get told, your coverage in the FY area is just shocking. Been like this for years, no matter how many forms I fill in it doesn't improve.

That's disappointing to hear. If it's a coverage limitation, it's not recorded as a "fault". This could be why the advice before has been that there isn't a problem. It's the type of situation that the network sharing between Vodafone and Three is effective at resolving, but there's no guarantees, sadly.
