New account, New SIM setup.

Hi
I'm just starting with Three, with a pay monthly account, but I'm having trouble setting up the SIM. It's in my phone, my phone recognises it, but there is no activity. If I have the WiFi on it works, but stop it and there is no network activity. Ive had a chat with tech and he said to wait 24 hours... So does my SIM need to be 'activateds'? Do I need to be looking at the APN,

Any help would be great, Thank you!

Hi @Rocatah,

I'd expect the SIM to activate within 24 hours at most, but this is usually almost immediate. Did you try contacting customer services at all? If so what happened?

Hi @Anonymous

In Three's defence they are 'We’re fixing an issue with our network in this area

We’re sorry for any disruption you experience. Our engineers are working on masts nearby, which means the rest of our network is handling more traffic than usual.

There is still hope...

Thanks for your reply

I started with Three on a pay monthly contract back in August this year and when my sim arrived in the post it was activated as soon as I put it into my existing phone. Any network and carrier settings are installed immediately from the sim. You could try removing and reinserting it and turning your phone on and off, that often works. Other than that it’s back to customer service I’m afraid as I can’t think of any logical reason why you are experiencing issues.
