How do I avoid paying extra charges when travelling from uk to Ireland?

There are no roaming charges in Ireland.

 

If you're traveling by ferry however, you will be charged if you attempt to connect to a maritime network whilst at sea.

That's right you can find info to confirm there's no daily roaming charge or fair use policy in Ireland on our Roaming Destination checker

Really good point about maritime networks, the easiest way to avoid this is by switching data roaming off till you've completed your journey (assuming you're travelling by boat).
