There was a new comms tower erected near Campion Road, North Whiteley (Fareham) about a year and a half ago. The information board by the tower says it's shared by EE and Hutchison. I believe EE activated it over a year ago (at least, that's what the town newsletter implied). However, it's still inactive as far as Three goes, as far as I can see. Do you know if there are any plans to activate it?

Hello there.
Ah, that's quite a while ago. Sadly, we're unbale to determine the future status of a mast and when it might go Live. Are you having issues in the area?
Pete.

Thanks.
Yes, it would be fair to say there are issues, which (as I understand it) are longstanding in the general Whiteley area. Whiteley is a new town, though older than 4G, but North Whiteley where I am is still under development and most of what there is is no more than 3 or 4 years old. I'm not sure there's any value going into it in any depth, and even the following summary is probably of interest to no one.
There's a big shared 4G site a couple of km to the south of me, which is probably the only Three mast I can "see" from near my house (but I often don't get an Internet connection on it until I get a lot closer). There's an O2/Vodafone mast (not enabled for Three yet, I don't think, and maybe not very powerful--at any rate, some people nearby seem to have to take manual gas readings) about a km to the west in Burridge. Then there's the new mast, which is about a km north of me, in North Whiteley. I don't know how good a signal EE users near me get from it. The town newsletter has mentioned taking legal action to get a new mast erected near the shopping centre. They don't say what the basis of any legal action might be, and in any event nothing is going to happen in the near future, obviously.
