Credit check didn’t passed for upgrade

Hi, I tried to have early upgrade last month, my contract comes to an end on 9th of November 2024. However, I didn’t passed credit check. I’m not sure why as I’m with 3 since 2012. Never had a problem to have upgrade before. Is that a new thing? So when my contract comes to an end, I don’t get upgrades anymore?

Me and you both. Average credit, others in the house on three. 28 days left so decided to stay with three and upgrade, I was rejected. £60,000 annual income so affordable. Makes no sense. Best part is other companies are offering me contracts (credit checked) 🥴 oh well. They're not the best anyway! Poor signal lately and prices aren't all that cheap. I've found a company offering a s24 ultra with unlimited data texts and calls for £45 a month (three wanted £65). Id say shop around as I did 🙂

Hi @Lauralap88,

I'm sorry to hear that you were declined for an upgrade. Our new Three Your Way plans are FCA regulated device finance products, so we do need to implement strict credit and affordability checks, even when renewing plans now.

You shouldn't apply again within 3 months of a decline, but when you reach the end of your minimum term it sounds like this should coincide with 3 months from the last application, so you should be able to decide then if you'd like to apply for an upgrade, or look into other options.
